The use of this application requires a purchase of either an annual subscription or a lifetime use purchase. At least once each year the City of Punta Gorda revises its utility ordinances which subsequently requires updates to this application to adjust calculations to conform to revised ordinances. The annual subscription provides estimates and all annual updates for ordinances within the subscribed year. The lifetime purchase provides all estimates and annual updates for ordinances for the lifetime of application use. This app estimates bills for residential utility customers within the city limits or outside the city limits, if they are serviced by Punta Gorda. Understanding Punta Gorda’s utility bill can be frustrating. Their bill only offers four summary totals: water, wastewater, refuse and tax. Where is the detail for water, wastewater and refuse? Punta Gorda wants you to reduce irrigation and conserve water. How much would it cost if you used no water? The estimate will show you the minimum fees for water and wastewater. If you do conserve, how would you determine the impact on your bill? If you’re using 15,000 gallons a month now and you conserve, how much will 10,000 gallons cost? How about 8,000 gallons? How does that conservation change total cost, water and wastewater? What are minimum charges? The estimates you can create with this application will answer these questions and will allow you to know with certainty what to expect. Rather than read meters, Punta Gorda sometimes estimates water use. Water use has tiers, each with a higher price. If Punta Gorda estimates your water use for one month, but then reads the meter the next month, are you overpaying because that estimate moved you to a higher priced tier for the bill that arrived soon after the city read the meter? How do you estimate and compare bills? The Punta Gorda Utility Estimator app not only allows you to estimate a bill for any usage to 50,000 gallons but the estimate also reveals how much that bill has increased from past fiscal years. To use the app, you need only enter how any gallons you want to estimate, determine the past fiscal years (2024, 2025) for comparison to current fiscal year 2026 rates, and indicate whether you reside within the city or out-of-the-city. You can read your meter at any time and know your exact usage to use for an estimate. The estimate will show you the cost for the entered usage.
